Mundi

Mundi, located in the Siran Valley of District Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is a breathtaking place to visit. It is easily accessible, with just a two to three-hour drive from Mansehra city. The completion of the Express Highway, a part of the CPEC project, has further reduced the travel time to Mundi, making it more convenient for tourists.

One of the advantages of visiting Mundi is that it can be explored in a day trip without the need to stay overnight. You can leave in the morning and return to Mansehra city before evening or continue your journey back home if you started early. Along the way, there are several man-made or artificial lakes where you can take a break and enjoy various refreshments such as boat rides and Ferris wheels, making it a great spot for families and kids. Siran Lake Resort and Siran Village are popular attractions in the area, especially during festivals and weekends when they are bustling with local and distant visitors.

Once you reach Mundi, you won't find many restaurants or resorts to stay, but there are a few local Dhabas (small roadside eateries) where you can enjoy food. The Siran River in Mundi is not very wide, but it offers a serene and picturesque setting. Sitting by the river, observing the forest, and listening to the sound of the flowing water and its collision with the rocks can be a calming and immersive experience. The tranquility and solitude of the place make it a worthwhile destination in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mundi is surrounded by deep pine forests, and its location at the northern end of the valley provides stunning views. It is about an hour's drive from Jabori by road. Families seeking a peaceful retreat from the bustling Kaghan and Galyat valleys can enjoy a lovely picnic at Mundi Meadow. The Siran River originates from Tarbela Lake and the Mandagucha Glacier, and it flows through the area, adding to the scenic beauty. The river irrigates a significant amount of land in the region through the higher Siran canal at Dharial and the lower Siran canal at Shinkiari.

One of the advantages of visiting Mundi is that it offers a budget-friendly experience. The travel expenses, accommodation, hotels, and other facilities are relatively inexpensive, allowing visitors to enjoy nature and the beautiful mountains with dense pine trees, waterways, fountains, and the enchanting Siran River without spending a lot of money.
